The Skies can’t keep their secret!
They tell it to the Hills —
The Hills just tell the Orchards —
And they — the Daffodils!
I’m thinking of Emily Dickinson’s poem about the secrets the sky can’t keep and how much of a writer’s life is to pay attention to what we see and then to write it down. It sounds so simple.
I wanted to start this newsletter to offer up my paying-attention-as-writing over the next year. I’ll soon have some good news to share about an upcoming project. I’m also going on sabbatical and this will be the place where I pay attention to the Israel, Palestine, Northern Ireland, France, and Greece.
I’ll also share the work I’ve published, and perhaps what didn’t get published but is lingering with me.
So welcome, and I hope you’ll stick around.
Melissa
Thank you for sharing your writing. Your articles on sexual harassment of female clergy have been of great insight to me during a difficult time. May your sabbatical be peaceful and prolific!
Thank you!
