On Donald Trump and friendship with God
These drawings of footwashing are ubiquitous in my social media feed. I have no doubt that artist drew them in the spirit of expansive love and care, a person who read Jesus’ instruction to the disciples: “you also should wash one another’s feet” and gave their interpretation in art. If Jesus washes the disciples’ feet, we ought to wash everyone’s feet: the police, Ukrainian refugees, the imprisoned, and…. Donald Trump.
